Greetings! I am so pleased to announce that WFMT will be welcoming eight students to Seoul to serve in the inaugural Assemble of Student Delegates (ASD). For the 2011 Assembly, the delegates have been recommended by professionals from their region. In the future, we will be accepting general nominations.
The purpose of the WFMT Assembly of Student Delegates is1.to enhance students’ knowledge of the profession,2.to provide a forum for international student activities3.to facilitate the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and opinions, and4.to assist in preparing responsible, politically aware, and skillful leadership of WFMT.
The WFMT Assembly of Student Delegates consists of the WFMT Executive Assistant and one Student Delegate from each of WFMT’s eight regions. There will be an Annual ASD Meeting each year, likely to be held online. The ASD will convene in person once every three years at the World Congress of Music Therapy. These meetings provide students with the opportunity to network and further their understanding of our global professional organistaion. The WFMT ASD Delegates will be the primary link between WFMT and the students in the eight regions. The main tasks of a Student Delegate are to collect and share information. They will correspond with the students in their regions to solicit information about their ideas and current projects. They will then communicate this information to the WFMT ASD and share the information received at the ASD Meeting.I look forward to announcing our Delegates in February and meeting with them in July!Best wishes,Rose FienmanContact Rose at assistant@wfmt.info for more information.
